About: Since 2016, the W.D. Packard Foundation has funded and implemented improvements at the Japanese Tea Garden in Packard Park.  Dedicated in 1915 as the first Japanese Tea Garden east of San Francisco, the garden and its pagoda serves as a staple of W.D.'s legacy and of Packard Park.  After completing a restoration of the original pagoda, creating a site plan, building and installing a fence, and cleaning a visual path to the river, the W.D. Packard Foundation continues to work on improvements including landscaping and signage.
