Packard Music Hall Floors
Complete Date: 2025
About: The wood floors at Packard Music Hall were refinished by a collaborative effort from W.D. Packard Foundation, the W.D. Packard Band, the City of Warren, and JAC Management. After years of wear and tear, we're excited to showcase the refreshed space. Restoring the floors not only improves the safety and longevity of the building, but also helps preserve the beauty and historic character of the hall for future generations.
Packard Park Playground & Bankshot Court
Complete Date: 2025
About: A brand-new interactive playground and a fun bankshot court were recently unveiled, turning the park into a favorite spot for kids and parents alike. We're proud to have contributed, alongside the U.S.. This project was a collaborative between Trumbull Neighhorhood Partnership, EPA settlement funds and the William Swanston Charitable Grant Fund, as well as a donation by the W. D. Packard Foundation. It’s exciting to see such a welcoming space where families can play, connect, and create lasting memories together.
Packard Park Signage
Complete Date: 2022
About: The W.D. Packard Foundation and the City of Warren partnered to fund new wayfinding signage in Packard Park, along with updated signs marking the various sports fields. These improvements not only make it easier for visitors to navigate the park and find their destinations, but they also draw attention to the many recreational areas and amenities available, encouraging families and community members to take full advantage of the space.
Packard Music Hall Sign
Complete Date: 2019
About: Packard Music Hall has a fresh new look with the installation of a modern digital marquee, replacing the decades-old sign that stood along Mahoning Avenue. The new sign makes it easier to highlight concerts, performances, and community events, ensuring everyone knows what’s happening inside the hall. The W.D. Packard Foundation is proud to have contributed to this project alongside other community partners. Together, we’ve helped create a welcoming and up-to-date first impression for visitors while supporting one of Warren’s most cherished cultural landmarks.
Japanese Tea Garden
at Packard Park
Complete Date: Ongoing
About: Since 2016, the W.D. Packard Foundation has funded and implemented improvements at the Japanese Tea Garden in Packard Park. Dedicated in 1915 as the first Japanese Tea Garden east of San Francisco, the garden and its pagoda serves as a staple of W.D.'s legacy and of Packard Park. After completing a restoration of the original pagoda, creating a site plan, building and installing a fence, and cleaning a visual path to the river, the W.D. Packard Foundation continues to work on improvements including landscaping and signage.
Elevator
at Packard Music Hall
Complete Date: October 2018
About: In collaboration with the Packard Trust Board, JAC Management, and the City of Warren, the W.D. Packard Foundation secured the funds and oversaw the installation of an elevator at Packard Music Hall. This accessibility project, totalling over $650,000, also included the renovation of the women's first floor restroom and installation of automatic doors into the lobby.
